Many times we need to restrict computer users to access the
USB port. Especially due to virus protection. You know that viruses spread very
quickly through our USB memory. And if you running a computer lab, you should
be careful that users do not use USB in lab, because if there are viruses in
USB device, the viruses can spread in whole network, which can cause a
disastrous situation for your computer network.
I will tell you a simple method, through which you can
disable your USB ports, and block the users to use it.
DISABLE USB PORTS
Step 1: Click Start and
write regedit
Step
2: Now click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Step 3: Open System and then CurrentControlSet and the Services
Step 4: Locate UsbStor and then in the right side pane, double click on Start.
Step 5: When you double click on Start a dialog box will
open, change the value of that box from “3” to “4” to disable the USB ports.
And then close the regedit. And try your USBs.
ENABLE USB PORTS
Repeat all steps and now change the value of dialog box
from “4” to "3" your USB ports will be enabled.
